How to Safely Remove or Eject the Clickfree from Windows PC

As a rule of thumb, always eject your USB drive before unplugging it. This practice ensures that data transfers are completed, and the device is ready for removal. Even if you are in a rush, you are better off taking a couple of extra seconds instead of losing hours trying to get that data back.

There are 2 ways on how to safely remove or Eject the Clickfree from your Windows PC. 

Method 1:

  • Navigate to the bottom right corner of the bottom toolbar
  • If the USB icon is hidden, click the Up arrow

  • Locate the USB icon and find your external hard drive

  • Click Eject, and wait for a message stating it's safe to disconnect

  • A bell noise should also play.
  • You can go ahead and unplug the Clickfree from your Computer. 

METHOD 2:

  • Click on the X button of the Clickfree dashboard to Close the App.

  • You will then get a prompt message that says the USB device was ejected successfully.
